"Jennie Ellis is like no other photographer I have ever met. I remember the first time we had her take pictures of one of my daughters. My daughter was having a blast and Jennie was almost going into the lake just to capture the best picture she could. In the other side was another girl taking pictures with another photographer and she didn’t look very happy. This is because she has a way to capture the personalities of those she photographs making people feel good, and allowing that beauty inside of them to come out in the pictures. It was especially meaningful when she took pictures of my younger daughter who has Down Syndrome. My daughter tends to show a forced smile in pictures and pictures sometimes don’t come out the best but when she is with Jennie, it is different. Jennie talks to her and asks her questions that bring out her true self and she captures the picture at the right moment. She knows what she can and can’t do and works around that. She has also taken our family pictures and always goes above and beyond to tell our story through them. She gets to know you and know how to bring the best out of people. She is an artist that knows how to show your story through the pictures she takes."

Having a child with a disability is no easy feat and it’s quite difficult as a special needs parent to view “perfect” family pictures and know that having a “perfect” family picture might not be in the cards for you. Jennie has the patience of a saint, understands our struggles and is capable of shooting what I would call, the “perfect” family picture for us. We will forever be grateful for her talent, her grace, her understand and her patience when it comes to being behind the camera. Her work is truly beautiful and it shows.
