WHERE IT STARTED
My love for photography started in 2009 on a mountain in Haiti. That was the year I took the first of 26 trips that have irrevocably changed me and the lens through which I see the world. To share the stories of our beloved Haitian brothers and sisters with our US community, I needed natural, authentic photos. I could not hire a photographer every trip so I borrowed a camera and taught myself how to take a picture and make it come alive.
Since then I have learned how to capture the beauty of a person in a timeless way. Whether it is siblings interacting, a first birthday, or a 50th wedding anniversary, I am observing and creating ways to photograph each person so that he or she is brought to life through a still framed photo and all while having fun! The compliment I hear the most is “that was not stressful at all and the kids had fun!”
